Most places that we want to tour or visit is closed or it is too crowded for us. This pandemic is not going away anytime soon and it has really changed our outlook. So on this leg of our wandering lifestyle, we decided to just relax and for us there is not a better way than a little Beach Time.
Cape Charles is located on the Virginia Eastern Shore. The only reasonable way to get there is to drive to Virginia Beach take the 18 mile Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, Highway 13 and pay the $24 toll. Yes, it’s $24 each way. Once you get there, it’s worth the trip. The shore has great views with bay is on the west side and the Atlantic is on the east side. The Atlantic side is rich with low land habitats for water creatures and wild horses. The bay side is known for its spectacular sunsets.
We haven’t been here in many years but we remember the slow pace, few people and the beauty of the sunsets. That is why we choose to spend a week at Chesapeake Bay KOA, Sunset Resorts.
Sunsets… I had my camera ready.
One of my last vacations with Ann was in Cape Charles!~ Lovely area! Hope you guys have a nice time there!
