Our week stay at Catalina State Park in Tucson went by very quickly. There is so much to see and do that one week is just not enough time. Next time we come back, we will have to reserve a site for a longer time. This place is so popular that it books up many months in advance.
We moved into a RV site at Usery Mountain Regional Park in Mesa, Az. It wasn’t long that a recognizable sound was in our RV flying around. It was a Virginia stink bug circulating and pestering us. This bug must have been in a good location inside our habitat waiting for the temperature to be just right before it showed itself. I caught the thing and released it to the outside, ‘Phoenix’. Yes, I am the culprit. This bug will probably moved in and infested your home town like it has done to ours.
Tuesday night, Norman and Lallee, my brother and his wife pulled in with their RV. Lucky enough, they were able to get a site close to us as there was only one empty site left. For the three night stay, they had to move each day to a new site. This place is booked several months in advance so they were lucky and happy to play musical RV sites.
We had a nice couple of days visiting and seeing some sites. We started off visiting the Musical Instrument Museum. This museum presents instruments from all countries of the world, from the most primitive to the most complex. It brings home that we humans are all connected by music from the earliest of times to the current times. Next, we visited Organ Stop Pizza for dinner. It’s a dinning experience listening to one humungous pipe organ. Then we followed up the next day with a trip to Tortilla Flats. This was a 25 mile drive on the old Apache Trail through the Superstition Mountains to the foot of Canyon Lake. It’s an old watering hole (Saloon) for early travelers. Now, it is a destination for lunch and that is what we did.
Looks so warm and sunny in Pheonix ! 🙂 The Musical Instrument Museum looks fun and the Organ Stop Pizza looks like a really cool experience too. We are in the middle of the big blizzard!! We are enjoying the white stuff and staying warm by the fire! We miss you!!
Good snowy morning, Lisa. We are having an awesome time. So far the best part of the trip for me has been the Big Bend Natioal Park in Texas. It was beautiful with it’s diverse mountain ranges and terrain. Stay warm and have a cup of hot cocoa for me. Love and miss you all.
