We got up early for our trip to Indio. It’s around 150 miles away and we wanted to get in by noon. Then I realized that just a couple of miles away we change time to Pacific which means we gain an hour. So our early up and ready to go was extremely early. Thank goodness for that because when I lifted the jacks, we had a flat tire. We have no spare but Land Wanderer has a built-in small air compressor. I hooked up my air hose and tried to air it up but the tire had come away from the rim in the flat position. My little air compressor wasn’t working. I had a feeling the flat tire was something to do with having the tires worked on just before we got to the Palms RV Resort. I had the people that rotated the tires come out and fix the leak. Sure enough it was just a small sealing leak around the rim. They applied a tire sealing grease and the leak stopped. Like with the initial rotation, they charged me nothing. I cannot say enough about how nice the people are in this area. We gave Jose a nice tip and he was very grateful and off we went. After all that, we got into Indio around 1 pm PST.
We are in Indio to visit Denise’s family. Most of our time will be visiting and maybe we will get chance to wander a bit before we leave. Our weather now is in the upper 80’s to low 90’s. We have moved our winter clothes to our storage area in Land Wanderer’s basement and brought up our summer clothes. It’s been pleasant enough to sit outside past dark and still be very comfortable not like Arizona where the temperature drops like a rock after the sun goes down.
We are Staying At:
Indio California Elks Lodge. As Elks members, we are able to stay at the lodge RV Park and pay a donation. The asking donation is $22/night. We have water, 30amp electrical and free Wifi. At this particular lodge RV Park, we had to make reservations in advance. This is a very popular area for snowbirds.
